Funimation has revealed to have two new licenses today, one from 2012 based off a mystery novel and a 90’s fantasy anime.
For the weekly rankings of DVD and Blu-ray sales in animated media in Japan, the fourth Utano☆Princesama Legend Star disc had the most sales for April 3-9 on both lists. Once again, it’s becoming evident the fujoshi dollar is becoming stronger in the anime market.
A Kickstarter campaign run by Sekai Project with the goal to create a 20 minute OVA based on the visual novel series NEKOPARA (which evolved from the doujinshi of illustrator Sayori) was surpassed within a day of launch. The NEKOPARA series is about a male protagonist named Kashou who decides to leave his home and open a bakery named La Soleil. He eventually finds out two catgirls from his household, Chocola and Vanilla, decided to come with him. His sister manages to track him down and along with the other four Minaduki household catgirls they all work together to run La Soleil. Along the way, events of a naughty nature transpire.

Anno Hideaki is a well known and important film and anime director whose main claim to fame is creating the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series. The original anime series got a four part movie reboot called Rebuild of Evangelion that began in 2007 with Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone and whose fourth movie has shown no sign of being in production since its title was announced in 2012.
The movie based on the Majestic Prince manga, tentatively named Ginga Kikotai Majestic Prince, was announced on March at an announcement event where few details on the movie were revealed. There voice actor Asanuma Shintaro said the title itself was in case they thought of something else. When the audience started making suggestions, he commented: “Wouldn’t it be interesting if, not just staff, but also fans helped us think about it?”
Sentai Filmworks will be handling the English release of the anime Trinity Seven both as a digital and physical release.
Hana to Yume magazine’s 10th issue had an announcement on the cover the Fukumenkei Noise manga would be getting a television anime adaption. The issue is set to release on Wednesday, and only the preview has made the news official. Further details should be provided once the issue is officially released.
